Web Designers create all visual elements on a website including graphic design, color pallets, typography, user interface, authoring standardised code and search engine optimization. They work directly with a client to create designs or work as part of a team to develop the client vision. Web Designers have some knowledge of coding skills in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. They also create wireframes and prototypes to test design ideas, offer input on design logos, branding and company style guides.

Web Developers write the code that makes a website function, whether they work on the front end or back end (server-side). They have expert-level knowledge of programming languages, including HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript but also other languages like Ruby, C/C++, Python and also knowledge of frameworks, and libraries.
